The countdown to the premiere of the highly-talked-about “A Country Called Ghana” movie is set to take centre stage at the National Theatre on Friday, May 17, 2024.

Directed by Fiifi Ghabin and produced by Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, the movie project features Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, and Victor Osuagwu, popularly known as ‘Awilo Sharp Sharp,’ Paa George, and Sweet Mimi, among others.

With the Nigerian cast set to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, there has been so much talk regarding the quality of the movie and the storyline behind it.

But Lilwin stated in a recent interview that he was confident movie lovers would love the concept of the movie and that the quality of the movie would meet Netflix standards.

According to Lilwin, millions of cedis had been spent on the production of the movie, and urged Ghanaians to support the project in his quest to revive the local movie industry popularly known as “Kumawood”.

Lilwin remained hopeful of a successful premiere not only in Accra but also at the KNUST CCB Auditorium in Kumasi on May 25 and the last premiere at the Eubsett Hotel in Sunyani on June 1, 2024.

Brief Synopsis

In a small Ghanaian village, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin happens to be the only literate person in the town, which saw an intrusion of foreigners.

The foreign mission led by Ramsey Noauh tried to take something precious from the land back to their country in conjunction with Lilwin.

Would their mission to take this precious asset from the Ghanaian village be successful?

Well, movie lovers should fasten their seatbelts for this fascinating serial drama.

Tickets

Early tickets are currently on sale, with Standard for GHC200 and VIP for GHC500 (713*33*33#).

The red-carpet event for all the premieres starts at 6:00 p.m., while the movie premieres at 8:00 p.m. local time.
