Holders Asante Kotoko SC have been eliminated from this year’s MTN FA Cup after suffering a 4–2 penalty defeat to Aduana FC in their Round of 16 clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The match produced no goals in regulation time despite Kotoko creating an early opportunity to go ahead, with defender Samba O’Neil failing to convert from the penalty spot.

Aduana FC, however, proved more composed during the shootout, converting four kicks to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Another stunning result in the Round of 16 was when Division One side Attram De Visser secured an emphatic 4-0 victory over Premier League opposition Eleven Wonders.
At the Tiba Astro Turf, former champions Dreams FC secured a commanding 4–2 victory over Inter Allies.

Razak Salifu was the star of the encounter, registering a hat-trick in the 37th, 50th, and 62nd minutes, after Ebenezer Adade had opened the scoring in the 20th minute.

Inter Allies, who were finalists in 2014, reduced the deficit through Vincent Amedzrator and Abubakar Lartey, but their efforts were insufficient against the 2023 champions.

Berekum Chelsea also progressed after a hard-fought 1–0 win over Tamale City at the Golden City Park, courtesy of an 80thminute strike from Kofi Osbern Tanab.

In Techiman, Liberty Youth recorded an impressive 3–0 triumph over Real Tamale United at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, while Heart of Lions were made to work for their place in the last eight, edging third-tier side True Life FC 3–2.

Aduana FC, Berekum Chelsea, Techiman Liberty Youth, Dreams FC, and Kpando Heart of Lions join Attram De Visser, Medeama SC, and Nations FC in the quarter-finals.

Round of 16 results:

Eleven Wonders 0–4 Attram De Visser

Nations FC 2–1 Swedru All Blacks
True Life FC 2–3 Heart of Lions
Dreams FC 4–2 Inter Allies
Asante Kotoko 0–0 Aduana FC (Aduana won 4–2 on penalties)
Liberty Youth 3–0 RTU
Berekum Chelsea 1–0 Tamale City
Medeama 0-0 Samartex 1996 (Medeama won 4-2 on penalties)
