A total number of 621 valid votes were cast out of an expected 662 while three ballots were rejected.

Dr Benjamin Dzameshie, the Party Chairman in the Constituency, after polls stated that the results indicated a tight contest among the aspirants while flagbearer primary was seen as a crucial test for the party’s internal cohesion and support ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“Let us keep calm, we are one family and at the end of the day, NPP will be the winner. We must rally behind whoever becomes the flagbearer for us to regain power in 2028 general election,” he said.

He urged various supporters of the respective aspirants especially the winners to celebrate with caution to avoid creation of unnecessary tension and hatred among members that could hurt the party in future elections.

He said the election was closely watched by many party members and political analysts, and thanked security personnel, party executives, among others for adhering to the rules and regulations put in place to ensure a peaceful, smooth and credible election process.

Meanwhile, Elikem Sewordor, the party Secretary, told the Ghana News Agency that the National Elections Committee had not yet announced the final results, but the partial or provisional results gave an indication that all the candidates performance well in the election.

Some other party supporters the GNA engaged revealed that the outcome of the primary was likely to have significant implications for the party’s chances in the 2028 general elections and hope that the best aspirant would win to form formidable team ahead of 2028 polls.
