New emoluments policy to reform public sector pay

Obuasi-Ghana, Dec. 24, GNA – The Obuasi Municipal Health Directorate has lauded Fifty 50 Club, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the Adansi area, for its contribution to quality healthcare delivery.
Madam Yaa Manu, the Municipal Director of Health Services, said the NGO had been of great help to some facilities and individuals in the Municipality towards improving healthcare.
She said this after the Club donated some medical equipment, worth GHS34,500.00, to the Ntosua Community Health and Planning Services (CHPS) Compound in the Obuasi Municipality and Nsokote-Anomabo CHPS Compound in the Adansi Asokwa District.
The equipment included four crank beds with drip stands, two nebulizing machines, two oxygen cylinders with trolleys and flowmeters, four BP apparatus, two Fetal dropplers, and two medication trolleys.
Two individuals, a stroke patient and another with intestinal disorder, were also supported to the tune of GHS8,500 to access medical treatment.
Founded in July 2020, the Fifty 50 Club has made many donations to health facilities and contributed to defray the cost of heart surgeries for eight individuals with various heart/medical conditions.
The Club has also provided scholarships to brilliant but needy students, and set up 23 people in various businesses.
Those interventions, Madam Manu said, were worth commending in an era where some health facilities, especially those in the rural communities, lacked beds and other medical equipment.
She said the donation would go a long way to ease the stress and struggles of health workers in the beneficiary facilities and enhance the health of the people.
Meanwhile, the Club had donated assorted food items, worth about GHS 7,000, to the Patmos Children’s Home in the Adansi Asokwa District.
Ms Cecelia Osei Wusu, a Caregiver at the facility, expressed appreciation to the Club for the timely intervention to enable the children to make merry during the Yuletide.
Mr Jacob Edmund-Acquah, the President and Founder of the Club, said it had changed the lives of many with its targeted donations.
The feedback from the beneficiaries pointed to the huge impact being made, which was enough to motivate them to do more, he said.
He acknowledged the MTN Foundation for supporting the Club with GHS 20,000.00 and appealed to other corporate bodies for support to provide relief to communities and needy people in society.
The Obuasi Municipal Health Directorate presented a citation to the Club in recognition of its support to healthcare delivery.
