Odumase Number One (B/R)-Ghana, Sept. 01, GNA – Nana Yaa Adanse Poduo II, the Paramount Queen-mother of the Odumase Number One Traditional Area in the Sunyani West Municipality has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his passion towards improving quality education.

She therefore called on Ghanaians to support the government to strengthen the implementation of the Free Senior High School and the Free TVET education programmes to benefit the larger majority.

Nana Poduo II gave the commendation when she was speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a-12-unit classroom block for the Sunyani Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School at Odumase Number One in the municipality.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund is supporting the Midwest Ghana Conference of the SDA Church to construct the two-storey building at the cost of more than GHC2 million.

It is expected to be completed within eight months.

On completion, the facility would pave way for the Conference to relocate the SHS from the old site, near the Sunyani SDA hospital to Odumase.

Nana Poduo II commended President Akufo-Addo, saying Odumase too had benefited from the government’s Agenda 111 district hospital project, which was progressing steadily in the area.

Osabarima Kwabena Ababio, the Kurontirehene of Odumase Number One Traditional Council said the FSHS education programme had enhanced access, with many poor children in the area gaining opportunity to acquire secondary education.

As a developing nation, he said the government’s huge investments made into the FSHS and TVET programmes were in the right direction, saying the nation would reap the benefits in future.

Osabarima Ababio expressed optimism that Ghanaians would support the government to take development of the nation to the next level.
