President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaian university graduates to apply their expertise to drive the country’s rapid development.

He said that their education had equipped them with the knowledge and leadership skills needed to address the persistent challenges facing society.

“With perseverance and hard work, you can achieve greatness,” the President noted while addressing the fifth session of the 16th graduation ceremony of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

A total of 5,608 students graduated at this year’s ceremony, including 1,120 postgraduate students.

The event also marked the opening of a 10-storey building funded by the university’s internally generated resources.

The new facility includes lecture halls, offices, and an auditorium to support both academic and administrative functions.

President Akufo-Addo lauded the University for remaining committed to its vision and mission, working assiduously to shape the minds of the country’s future leaders.

“UPSA is one of Ghana’s institutions of higher learning that has become synonymous with academic excellence,” he elaborated.

With more than 55 years of experience, the University has earned a reputation as the oldest Ghanaian institution specializing in professional accountancy and management, with many of its graduates holding prominent leadership roles both locally and internationally.

President Akufo-Addo stated that his administration had made significant investments in educational infrastructure at all levels, aimed at improving equity and accessibility.

These efforts have provided numerous Ghanaian youths with opportunities to pursue education, enabling them to improve their lives and contribute to societal transformation.

Dr. Kofi Ohene Konadu, Chairman of the UPSA Board, urged the graduating students to maintain their hard work across various fields of endeavour to enhance the reputation of the University.
