The Kpando Gadza M/A Basic School has received a newly renovated and stocked library through a joint venture by the Kpando Gadza Queen mother and Delali Project.

Other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who supported the project included the Heritage Hands Foundation and Rainbow Trust Foundation, and the Accra Sankofa Leo Club.

Mr Emmanuel Elikplim Akyea, Leader of Delali Project, said the initiative, led by the Delali Project, aimed at promoting literacy and providing a safe, inspiring space for learning.

He said Delali Project focused on helping underprivileged students by providing basic educational items that could inspire them to do well in their academic journeys.

Mr Akyea said it was the belief that when children had the tools they needed to learn, they were most likely to stay in school, thrive and reach their full potential.

Mama Kodzogasi II, Queen mother of Kpando Gadza, underscored the need for pupils to have a library to improve their reading skills.

She called for parents’ keen interest in sending their wards to school to become future leaders.

Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare I, Director of Heritage Hands Foundation and Rainbow Trust Foundation, said the Group made up of Queen mothers with the aim of making impacts in the society with focus was on education, youth, and women empowerment.

She said they provided learners with access to books and libraries and helped learners in deprived areas with reading materials.

Nana Asare said they also empowered women to be independent and acquire some skills to be able to be independent and develop their communities.

She said the support for the library project for the school stemmed from the desire to support learning outcomes for learners.

Mr Ephraim Kwesi Tigoh, Headmaster of the School said the donation would improve the reading skills of the learners.

He said the school would need a Librarian to handle the new facility, adding that the school lacked access to potable water, a Kindergarten block, and a playground.
