Prof. Salifu replaces the former Principal, Mr Adams Bertinus Kaleo, who recently retired.

Professor Salinwiah, who is the fifth Principal to head the College, had already resumed office on August 1, 2023.

He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Tumu, that he was currently familiarising himself with the staff, students and the College community as well as holding community engagements.

“I resumed office on 1st August and I am now going through the Community entry process to engage with all the relevant stakeholders,” he said, and called for the support of all in the area.

He asked for the support of the people, especially the Paramount Chiefs and elders of the Municipality, towards bringing honour to the College and the area.

In an interview Kuoro Mahmoud Savei Zakariah, the Council Chairman of the Tumu College of Education, said the Council arrived at Prof. Salinwiah as the Principal after a search party advertised and conducted a rigorous selection process, which was transparent until his appointment.

He said the new principal had a four-year mandate and another renewable term after a successful service.

“I expect his appointment as the College Principal to push the boundaries of academic excellence of the school to another level like his predecessors,” Kuoro Zakariah stated
