Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, has engaged a delegation of United States investors at Sogakope to explore partnerships in innovation, entrepreneurship and technology, to support the Region’s development agenda.

The delegation, led by Mr Delali Kotoka and Dr Isaac Addae of the Conscious Immersion Group and the Onyx Group respectively, expressed interest in collaborating with the Region, to harness economic opportunities and promote private sector-driven growth.

Mr Gunu described the proposed partnership as strategic, stating that the Volta Region held significant potential that required targeted investment to unlock value.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to promote the Volta Lake Economic Corridor project and noted that effective private sector participation would be crucial to the success of such initiatives.

He said entrepreneurship remained a key pillar for sustainable development, as it empowered young people to become innovative and competitive while contributing to job creation and economic stability.

He stressed that harnessing youth creativity through enterprise development would support long-term regional transformation.

The delegation provided updates on their previous visit to Ghana and outlined progress made in mobilising partners and identifying priority areas for investment.

They reaffirmed their readiness to support efforts aimed at positioning the Volta Region as a hub for innovation and enterprise, while seeking the Minister’s endorsement for continued engagement.

Members of the team included Mr Frederick Cawthon, the Chief Executive Officer of Biocatalysis Solution; Dr Kim Scott, the Director of International Programmes at Elizabeth City State University; Ms Tracy Adams, an Engineer and Entrepreneur at the same university; and Mr Robert Turner, Manager of Innovation Programmes at the TSU Division of Sponsored Research.

Mr Gunu assured the delegation of the Region’s commitment towards building meaningful relationships with development partners to stimulate economic activity, create employment and expand opportunities for the private sector.
