Wa Circuit Court Jails Man for Seven Years Over Defilement

The Wa Circuit Court in the Upper West Region has sentenced Mohammed Abudi to seven years in prison with hard labour for defiling a 13-year-old girl.  

Abudi admitted to the offence and was convicted on his own plea.

The prosecution told the Court, presided over by Mr. Jonathan Avoogo, that the incident occurred in the Guli community of the Wa Municipality.

Following a proactive policing effort, Abudi was arrested on Sunday, April 13, 2025, just two days after committing the crime on Friday, April 11, 2025.

The Prosecution said he was arraigned and received his sentence on April 23, 2025.
